Tutorials to Make Handcarved Play Vegetables

Duo Fiberworks

The appetite for DIY play kitchens never seems to flag at Ohdeedoh. We love to feature them and you love to find creative new ways to build them, so we know there are a lot of kitchens out there. Of course, what is a play kitchen without play food? We have featured some great fabric food in the past but recently came across a delicious new take on fruits and veggies that we had to share.

Katie at Duo Fiberworks has more good ideas than any one person should be allowed to have. Luckily her creativity is coupled with a generous nature. The result is an amazing selection of tutorials on her website, one of which is a whole series of wood and fiber fruits and vegetables. The food is simple to make but looks absolutely great, with a rough, hand-hewn look that is both charming and realistic. The vibrant colors and felt stems and leaves she applies are the perfect finishing touches.
