One of the downsides to living in a small space is that you don't always have room for a set homework station. That's why making a homework caddy is high on our to do list as we prepare for the upcoming school year. It's handy, for example, to have our little guy do his homework in the same room as us, say, in the kitchen as we are preparing dinner. It would also be handy, though, to be able to easily pick up and store those homework supplies until they are needed again the next day.
In our research we found a few different approaches to making your own homework caddy. We are likely going with the 6-pack technique, shown in above photo, but here are a couple of other ideas for any other takers.
• Married Minzilla
found a couple of sturdy (and free) bottle carriers and prettied them right up.
• That's My Letter
made a flatware storage box but used it for homework supplies instead.
• Martha Stewart
uses stuff from the recycle bin to make a homework caddy. Add some labels or paint to the cans to jazz the whole thing up even more.
