The other day Sarah Rae asked readers about the fate of foresaken collections. My wheels started turning and I thought of the I Spy bottle that Janie blogged recently. Then I remembered of one of my mom's 70s craft books that had an entire chapter devoted to embedding objects in resin furniture. What to do with outgrown collections? Make an I Spy table.
This table was made over at Audie's Oddities, where Audie posted details of the project. There's so much to like about this idea: it's a nice way to turn discarded toys into decor and commemorate a moment in childhood, even the jankiest curbside find will look amazing when redone, and the finished surface will be incredibly durable.
