DIY Idea: Coffee Filter Lamp Shade

I am always looking for easy ways to change up my home seasonally to avoid large purchases and the desire to get new stuff all of the time. This coffee filter lamp shade changes the look of the shade while also changing the light in your space. A perfect shade for spring to make your regular lamps look more seasonally appropriate and celebrate the warmer weather? Maybe. Find out more about this tutorial after the jump.

As Sarah from Northwest Hospitality describes,

With $2 and 2 hours, you can make-over a lampshade. It has a beautiful warm glow and adds so much personality to the room. It looks like thousands of tissues were cut and twisted, but it's just filters. The lamp stand was an antique I found at a garage sale for $10.

This would also be lovely if you dyed the filters with coffee before you applied them to the shade.

While this project takes a bit of persistence and time, it can completely make over a lamp helping you to update your space and the light quality of your room with a minimal impact.
