When Jan at design blog Poppytalk realized her DOCKSTA table from IKEA was in need of a makeover, she came up with this surprisingly simple hack to cover up the stains, scuffs and dings on the surface of the table. Can you guess what she did?
No, she didn't paint it — she used faux marble contact paper! The design is from the Grip-Tac line of adhesive papers, and Jan just traced her shape onto the paper and applied it to the surface.
It's a great temporary DIY if you're on a budget and need a quick fix, and I think it could even work well (not to mention last longer) with a glass top over it.
