Alicia from The unEMPLOYMENT Project put together an easy tutorial that uses old curtain rods and t-pins:

As Alicia writes:
The other day I looked at my up-and-coming office wall and thought, 'Geeze this wall looks boring!' This was not going to be the easiest of fixes because I have put myself on a rather extreme budget due to the fact that I am clearly not the main bread-winner of my relationship with T. I looked around at the things I had in an unpacked box and decided that a metallic surface would serve best in this location. I was about to dismiss the longing for a inspirational pin up space when I suddenly remembered a piece of discarded window treatment left by the previous homeowner. It was 90% of a curtain hanger as it was missing one side of the attachment apparatus to the wall leaving the curtain hanger unusable, at least until my brain got a hold of it!
