During last month's celebration of all things do-it-yourself, we posted a fun dandelion project involving twigs and yarn. Well, in that same vein here's another DIY using twigs and colorful bundles of thread, but this time using 3 foot long pussy willow branches and little colorful balls of felt.

Using felt balls (available from sources like Ornamentea or Woolly Fabulous), branches and a hot glue gun, Betz White made these lovely pussy willow rainbows. Full instructions are available on her blog. What a quick and easy way to bring some color into your home!

White Enamel Four-P...
I absolutely love this! So bright and sunny.
I think my lesbian friends will find this amusing.
Are those...pussywillows?
Hey, Pussy Willow Rainbow is my stage name!! Copyright infringement!!!
So darn cute.
Uhhhh....NO. It looks too much like some child stuck m & m's in the branches.
I'm so sorry-but this looks horrible!!!!!
I love it!
Absolutely gorgeous.
Though I am not sure about the setting they're displayed in, I think in my birch and white kitchen they would be lovely.
Hilarious. My four year old did this spontaneously to one of the trees in our garden, over the weekend. Sans hot glue, thank goodness.
Cute! And easy.
Taste the rainbow...
@Patrick (the other one): I like Pussywillow McRainbow better. It's much more fabulous.
But why bother with the felt? If you really are intent on doing this, why not just paint the pussy willows with watercolor or tempera?
I think this might look good if there was a more restrained color pallet, soft creams and lavenders. And it is cheap...
love this project! especially in a season where bright, blooming flowers aren't readily available =)
