I'm super keen on these illuminated houses. They'd add a touch of magic to any corner of your home, but this has got to be one of the best ideas for a kids' night light arrangement I can imagine. I'm picturing a mini village displayed on a bureau or a couple of dreamy chateaus erected on a bedside table. Such a clever and simple concept; plus, a snap to make.

Claire from Fellow Fellow constructed these winsome works using battery-powered tea lights and images from an old book filled with vintage photographs of countryside manors and cozy hamlets. I love the little touch of cutting out the windows for the light to shine through, an invitation for kids to imagine who might be the tiny inhabitants of these small fantasy dwellings. Check out the full tutorial here, complete with Claire's helpful insights on pulling off your own series of illuminated houses.

White Enamel Flatwa...
These would be great for holiday luminaries, which is actually what I thought they were from the initial photo.
So cool!! I love the paper crafts AT has been featuring lately. There was one post about making paper cutouts of city maps and I've since made two! Keep them coming :)
This is a really cool idea, I like it!
Love this and tried it straightaway but couldn't get it quite right. Will try again.
looks cool, im not sure about ever day decor but maybe for a holiday - christmas village or maybe spooky houses for halloween
Oh. My. Goodness.
This is such a simple idea but my head is now swimming with the possibilities. I have a couple of those vintage Lopez ceramic planters that are shaped like San Francisco houses (with plants in them, of course) on my window sill ... it would be neat to work little lights like these in, all in a row, for evening lighting.
Really neat. I love them.
So simple and beautiful. What's cool is that many of us will make them but no two will be alike!
These are absolutely INCREDIBLE. Lovely lovely lovely!
