Those nights spent sitting up in bed wondering if the garage door is open will be a thing of the past if you put this DIY project to work in your home...
Using a few hardware store purchases (A doorbell transformer, bell wire, a push button switch and, of course, the LED) totalling about $40, you can rig your garage door to trigger an LED indicator somewhere else in the house. Just follow the instructions posted here.
We love how the creator put his LED garage indicator on the headboard side of his bedroom's light fixture (pictured above). You'll never wonder about the garage again!
In addition to saving you the trip downstairs, installing this DIY project could save you money on utilities and spare you from being the target of a burglar.
The project was posted to Instructables by Kevin of PracticalHacks.com.

That's clever! Very simple, very effective. Completely non-intrusive. Bravo!
They already have something like this but cheaper and wireless!

I have yet to be in a house with a garage opener where you did not hear the garage door open and close.
