A burst of bright and welcoming colors, Norikos' bedroom is even more impressive once you realize the bed, night stands and wall decoration were all DIY. Inspired by all things mid century modern, Noriko guides us through the steps of each project on her blog, Mid Century Modern.
Noriko started with paint colors from Benjamin Moore's line called Suburban Modern. She opted for Chartreuse walls (to match her West Elm bedspread) and Classic French Gray for the focal point stripe. The circles are painted embroidery hoops fastened with glue dots from the craft store. Next up--the platform bed. Noriko always wanted a case study bed but didn't like the price tags attached. For just under $400, she and her husband built the mid century modern inspired bed--in one weekend. Needing a pair of nights stands to match the newly made bed, Noriko and hubby set out to create their own and finished them off with a fun stain called Mandarin Orange.

not really feeling the curtains in this room... that said, everything else is gorgeous!
Great job with the night stands. I really like them.
It's beautifully done. Nice cat!
That is amazing! Nice work. What an inspiration.
Super cute! I love your kitty.
Any idea where the quilt came from?
Wow! Love the bed and nightstands. Great job!
The bedspread really pulls it all together. Kudos.
I think the bedspread was West Elm a year or two ago, not 100 percent positive though, the one I remember was in a different colorway.
