Tanya and her husband were so inspired by Joel Henrique's modern dollhouse that they made one of their own for their 4-year-old son. His smile says it all!
Besides being a do-able project for non-carpenters, we love the open floor plan, if you will, of this type of dollhouse because it lends itself to all kinds of imaginative play, not just domestic. Tanya says her younger son even uses it as a table and bench.
You can see the plans they drew up to make it and read more about how they made the furniture on Tanya's blog, Shoot From the Hips.
Thanks Tanya!

I LOVE IT!
I could totally see, with careful designing, that this doll house could double as a play kitchen, shelves, tool bench. Maybe just a few topper pieces that can be added or removed depending on what the child chooses to play with at the moment.
This is fabulous! I love the painting, the bed, and the large open horizontal window above it. So many great details!
Also, there will be full instructions for my dollhouse and furniture in my book which will be out in the fall. Should be fun!
Fantastic--great idea, excellent execution.
thanks guys!
joel .... i am SO looking forward to the book!!
