It's no secret that good storage is essential to living well in a small space. So what do you do if your small space has next to no storage? Build your own, and make it as colourful and multi-functioning as you can!
I faced that exact problem when we moved back to our studio apartment. No storage! So I'm on a mission to create as many pieces of multi-use furniture as I can, starting with these DIY modular storage units. They're on castors because I rearrange regularly and it just makes sense. But what I like most is that they are 5 separate units that can be stacked, stored together or separated as required.
These units were made from industrial off cuts and where needed FSC certified wood using nails and glue for assembly, a nail gun when things got tricky and screws for the castor wheels. You can customise the very basic but not to scale design by adding or subtracting shelves, making them long and low or adding your own colours.

Can you explain a little more? Were they originally bookcases? Or did you build them from scratch? Where did you get the idea? Thanks!
lol yea you can't post something like that on this site without details on how to recreate it! Details.
Definitely more info needed! :)
tada! I have added more info, hopefully some of it's helpful :) I included a design template for a single unit which is far from perfect but still much better than the original which had bad math all over it.
