If you're looking for a fun and stylish idea for an inexpensive perpetual wall calendar, look no further than your local hardware store.
This full-size calendar was made from oriented strand board, stenciled letters, and a stack of Post-It notes that you can mark and move around as needed. For a more colorful look, you can even repurpose the free paint chips found in the paint section for each day of the week.

White Enamel Flatwa...
oh dear...
I'll pass.
That's unique! The rough/raw/unfinished-ness of the OSB is actually kinda growing on me. Definitely adds texture! I can picture using the stencils to write a quote on a piece of OSB as cheap, unique art. Is it OK to share a link here? I just posted a free printable for a perpetual calendar. It was just added to craftgawker. Here's the link.. http://ricedesigns.wordpress.com/2013/01/30/perpetual-birthday-calendar-free-printable/
I guess in Europe the first day of the week isn't Sunday?
How is this fun? Or stylish?
a better version might be this: http://makecollab.com/vertical/
I love the rough look, and if I made my own calendar Saturday and Sunday would be together so I could see weekend plans at a glance. Board might need to be covered in a poly though or else the post-its won't stick for long. In the right space the project is fun AND stylish.
Nope, it's Monday.
Agree with LBro - a cute idea, but I can't imagine how those stickie notes are staying put. If this was in my house, I would awaken every morning to find five or six days on the floor. I'd put up with it for a week or so before getting angry and chucking the whole thing in the garage.
If that doesn't say room and board(s) I don't know what does. Just one word; craptacular.
No. Just, no.
Particle board and post-it notes? Did you mean to post this on April 1st?
I'm not crazy about OSB because a) it looks crappy and b) all of the splinter I've gotten from it and its partner in crime, luaun.
This is just wrong on so many levels as itemized above. BUT it does provide inspiration which is always a good thing....redemption, albeit by a gnat's wing. I'll take it and be thankful for it.
This was clearly not designed by a person with a cat.
Sorry haters. I like it and think its pretty cool. I even like the "2013" stencil, which could be simply stenciled over next year.
Actually, not really. If you stenciled 2014 over it, it would just look like you spray painted a 4 over a 3. you would have to cover the whole thing and then spray paint the year, unless you want to make it a little more like the Derelicte Home Collection.
If the allure of a perpetual calendar is "no more wasting resources on ephemera," then there must be better choices than committing to throwing away 365 Post-It notes every year. Drawing your calendar on a chalkboard or dry-erase board would be far more sensible, and at least as "fun and stylish." Before I'd have a giant calendar made of particle board, I would literally rather lose track of time altogether.
@Esmeralda
I'm with you... I thought this was a joke.
Agreed
I would totally do this thinking I was being innovative by being able to arrange my calendar however I wanted to, then regret it because it looks messy and the post its would be falling down constantly.
