Kids and large family get-togethers can either be a flurry of energy burning excitement or a mess of stir crazy chaos. When the last few minutes of your Turkey Day feast are coming together, keep small minds occupied with these super cute DIY Pinwheels and Ribbon Wands. They're easy to make for any occasion.

Although we found this fun tutorial over at the wedding website, Once Wed, we think they'd make for great pre or post dinner entertainment for little ones needing something to keep them occupied. Make up some for the adults as well and let the good times roll. We can even see a turkey cut out or stamp being attached to the front of each pinwheel to make the pinwheel itself look like the birds feathers.

Do you have another way to keep little minds in check while the grownups are finishing up the final touches before or after a big event or get together? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
