DIY Project: MyBook Receives Leather-Bound Treatment

Ever thought about Western Digital's MyBook line of external hard drives and wonder to yourself, "Man, these things don't look like books at all." It appears you're not the only one as Spaceman Spliff from DeviantArt has proven with his very own custom leather "book" mod. Check it out, after the jump.

While many non-crafty types out there might find all the precise leather cutting, gold paint, and timely aging a bit much to simply add a bit of camoflage to a hard drive enclosure, what you get in the end is a look that's both unique and beautiful, and most certainly blends much better into a bookshelf filled with leather-bound books than the original glossy black covering.

And that's not the only project Spaceman Spliff (ah, we love saying that name out loud) has taken on; his devious gallery also showcases wonderful mods with leather-bound amplifiers, PCs, and monitors, all custom-made to match a sweet throne chair - you guessed it - with that immaculate aged leather treatment.
