When it comes to my Pinterest obsession with craft projects, I am certainly guilty of pinning and forgetting. I am rarely overcome with a swell of motivation to tackle any one on my growing board of DIYs. I need an external catalyst to get off my bum.
If you're like me, consider this your kick!
Yesterday, bloggers Katie, Sherry, Ana, and Erin announced they're doing a 2nd Pinterest Challenge. If you missed the 1st challenge in August, the rules are simple: pin something and complete it. The sharing begins on Wednesday, November 2.
What will inspire you? Will you gussy up a LACK? Chalkboard paint your fridge? I promise to dutifully report on my project next week! Deal?

I just started Pinterest+just started a DIY board.
For me: DIY should be DIWADIMS (Dream I Will Actually Do It Myself Someday).
Goldie, I'm very much the same. Pinterest is where I dream of being a highly productive, creative, well-appointed individual, but sadly I am not as Martha as I'd like to be IRL.
Totally, Muffy. Pinterest makes me feel more Pinteresting than I really am.
I'm gonna try to filter what I put in my DIWADIMS board+try to do this challenge.
Some of them are things I might do eventually. Others are things I will do this month. I found a DIY air plant chandelier on there and ordered the parts that hour! Can't wait to set it up tonight.
I'm such a procrastinator, I signed up and haven't pinned anything yet! Geeze, I can't even get THAT done. :)
I was feeling the same way, so I decided to challenge myself to doing one thing - big or small - that I pinned each month. I got some friends to agree to the challenge as well and set up a "Pin-up Girls" Facebook page where we can share or Pin to Projects and give out thoughts on how they translated to real life. :)
We're totally joining in on the Pinterest Challenge on Wednesday too! Man, I hope I can find time this weekend to finish my project before Wednesday!
Any time you make long to-do lists, I have found the ability to get overwhelmed and not do any of them goes up. I've never even heard of pinterest before, but I do manage to complete a fair amount of DIY projects. Just a thought toward actual productivity (i.e. get off the internet!!)
i LOVE pinterest. i'm a fairly crafty person (mostly sewing), but my current living situation means that i simply don't have the time, money, or space to actually do the projects i pin. i used to email myself links to blog project pages so i could search for them at a later date, pinterest is a much easier, visual way for me to collect these. i love it.
Before pinterest I kept all my ideas in individual digifiles, and had so many I spent a 3 day weekend sorting through and committing/deleting, now that I know which projects I'm committed to I made my supply lists and I'm knocking off the projects one by one. I can't wait for the days when I can delete a project file because the project's actually been realized!
I totally try the things I pin! I think you're using it wrong if you don't. It's just a waste of time then.
i'm addicted to Pinterest too! http://pinterest.com/ania & have separate boards dedicated to quilting, paper crafts, needle crafts, party decor & food ideas, & a huuuuge craft DIY board.... each board includes at least a couple completed projects of mine. I recently started a "on my to do" pin board however to keep track of my favorite projects to get going. otherwise i'd drown in all my beloved pins... (i do wish it was easier to delete pins though - without having to go through the "edit" page).
Jen, i would love that "Pin-up Girls" Facebook page! would join immediately! :)
same here, not even 1% of my pins will ever be done, but they are a good inspiration though!
I have a lot of stuff pinned as a "save for Christmas presents" type of thing, but I've done a few projects where I've specifically sought out pins to help me along the way. I have a board dedicated to the costumes I'm working on, so I have a source for screencaps and whatnot.
I really should blog more of my Pin-to-Project items, though
I LOVE pinterest, and have thought recently of doing a "pinning through Pinterest" type series, where I do projects from there. I try not to pin more than I'll ever do. So far I've made quite a few meals from there and several projects!
