We all know the love-hate relationship we have with desk accessories. If you've got some room, some time and zero(!) dollars, try this do-it-yourself project on for size. Afroditi Krassa is launching its Once Upon a Year collection, a range of products consumers can make by using products that are usually disposed of as trash. The designer is not selling the products, but giving away free instructions on how to make them! Can you spot what the desk accessories are made of? Answer after the jump.

The 394 Yellow Pages Cardholder uses a phone book trimmed to 394 pages, rolled up and popped into a metal tube. This item is also good for displaying photos or storing other small clips of paper.
