Q: I found this awesome chair on the street (by a dumpster next to an apartment building) the other day. It has no tags, is very old & worn, stained, and the upholstery is torn on the arm.. but it otherwise greatly resembles the Knoll Saarinen Executive Armchair (particularly the one sold by DWR.) Is there any chance this might be authentic? And either way, what should I do about the upholstery tear given that I don't want to spend lots of money? Is this a reasonable first DIY reupholstery project?

Editor: Wow- great find Sanae! If you don't have some experience reupholstering furniture, we recommend consulting a professional. On the other hand, given that you found the chair on the street, this might not be a bad project to practice your reupholstery skills for the future if you accept that the finish on this chair might not be perfect.
Readers- any recommendations for Sanae about either the chair itself or the idea of reupholstering it?
