DIY Rolling Book Cubby

Project Little Smith

We love this sweet idea from Project Little Smith. In need of a place to set things while nursing as well as a space for a growing library, this architect-turned-stay-at-home-mom decided to repurpose one of her husband's old skateboards. She ended up with a beautiful, functional piece that has special meaning to her family.

The cart itself is simple but works perfectly in a small nursery. And in using old skateboard wheels, the author notes that "There's also something really sweet about the fact that those wheels carried Big Smith so many places in his single and our early dating days and now they have found a new life with our baby just as we have." Sweet, indeed.

As a bonus, Little Smith appears to love pushing the cart around as a walking toy.
