This clever room divider is from Anne and Todd's Gropius Meets Victorian House Tour in Jamaica Plain. We love the clean, graphic look of this divider which they made from...
Old vinyl LPs! Initially they tried painting the records but weren't satisfied with the results so they resorted to contact paper. We've seen the divider close-up and the contact paper does NOT look like contact paper - it looks really finished and polished. We like that this room divider allows you to peek through the two spaces it divides - living room and tv space. Perfect repurposing!

Z2 iPod Dock and Wi...
I saw something very similar in the window display of a GAP store a few years back...
I love it! It's something I'm definitely going to copy in my home.
I've long had the idea to do something like this (with various materials -- plastic placemats, for instance).
I'm happy to see someone pull it off so successfully -- gives me more confidence to try it.
I really like this, however I would drop it down a level and attach it with cup hooks, rather than attaching the circle directly to the soffit. The extra length gained would complete the divider effect.
I have to say - I am not a fan. However, three cheers for ingenuity.
very groovy!
So nice, I think I'll say it twice. Nice, nice!
What are thye using to hook the Lp's together?
What are cup hooks?
Looks tight, I'm hooked!
Clever and witty! Kudos!
This is horrendous.
Buy a vinyl player instead.
What musical treasures has been destroyed by this ghastly prank?
I'm not a fan either, b/c it's not my thing, but it is creative.
When I was a kid my family lived in Japan in the late 1960's.
My dad's squadron would frequently stop in Taiwan when returning from Vietnam. My dad would buy vinyl albums there for very cheap. Since the quality of the vinyl was rather poor the first thing he would do is to record them onto tape on his reel-to-reel tape deck.
Since he had dozens of vinyl records he no longer had a need for he did exactly the same thing - made a room divider to separate our dining room from the living room.
The really cool thing about this was that the vinyl of these cheap pirated albums from Taiwan were either transparent orange or green in color. The room divider was actually very 60's!!
good skills, such hanging room divider looks good, moreover, good lighting and see-through effect.
