Looking to hunker down with a great DIY project this winter? There's no better time. We were awestruck by some of these hand painted recycled children's dressers.
Each dresser completely changes the room they are in. They represent everything from an injection of color or theme to on-trend patterns. One woman used a mobile as inspiration, another her son's love of cars. One is wallpapered! Whether it's as simple as changing the knobs to a complete unrecognizable overhaul, there's a lot of love evident in these dresser makeovers.

Great inspiration for DIY! I am in love with that first photo - esp the color combo with the brass hardware.
Just did a salvage with my cousin! These are great for adding some pattern and excitement to the rooms too.
The Union Jack dresser is stunning! I'm a bit obsessed with dressers and their endless rehab possibilities. I recently took a curbside find and turned it into a buffet for my plates, coffee cups and other pretty things: http://everyday-pretty.com/2011/10/20/curbside-beauty/
I wish I need 10,000 dressers. That's the only way I could feed my obsession. I recently redid a dresser similar to #9. It was a lot of fun! We chose to leave the bottom drawers the same and only embellish the top three. It turned out well. (Although the photos aren't Apartment Therapy quailty). I love a good mid century dresser!!

Beautiful! Maybe if I get rid of the boyfriend and all his clobber I'll have room for some of these beauties. Lovely.
Oh, yes, the union jack dresser is gorgeous as well as the turquoise dresser.
These turned out better than I would have expected from your average AT DIY post. I like most of them, but in particular 3. Seaworthy Before and After, Musings stands out as being exceptionally good - original, and the wood grain enhances the stencil and adds depth to the areas where it is exposed. Well done.
I love the union jack dresser... that's amazing!
Wow! What a fun surprise to be browsing a favorite blog and see our "Driving Dresser" featured. Thanks! It made my day.
I am loving these colors! Can I throw some into the mix? My mom made these and I just love how they turned out:

These are great! And it gives me some ideas for painting my grandmother's old princess desk.
