where is a good place to buy bamboo steamers? this is such a cute project!
This is cool. And you can paint them.
You can find bamboo steamers in restaurant supply stores that stock Chinese food equipment (as you would use these to steam dim sum, for example). Call your local Chinese food restaurant that uses them and ask them for its supplier!
Any Asian supermarket will have steamers too
I use bamboo steamers to hold my potatoes and onions. Dark, but allows air circulation. And looks nice.
