It's an easy solution to that light fixture you hate: an easy-to-create basket light. You can buy a pretty basket and make one in an afternoon, or take a more ambitious route and weave your own pretty sisal version.
- A sleek option from Annaleenas Hem.
- A vintage wire basket serves a bright new purpose on Whipperberry.
- An inexpensive trash can makes for a fashionable light from Domestically Speaking.
- Spend a few hours and weave yourself this pretty option from DesignSponge.
- Two trends in one: cheery dip dyed lights from Poppytalk.

I don't know. I never liked the whole "bare light bulb in a wire cage" look. Because it still looks like a bare light bulb. In a wire cage. The idea of a shade is to shade my eyes from that harsh light from the bare bulb. If the bulb is in a cage how is that protecting my eyes from that harsh light? May as well save all the effort & stick with the Ralph Kramden look- the single bare bulb hanging from a wire in the center of the room. And use the wire basket to gather eggs.
Basket lights.
