IKEA has yet to design it's own version of the train table. In the meantime, this IKEA hack will do nicely. Recognize the components?
The base is made of the ubiquitous IKEA Trofast storage system, popular among parents for holding all sorts of toys. The top is an MDF board with a lip all around to keep toys on the table. We love the extra detail of covering the top with felt - it simulates grass and water but also doubles to dampen sound. For details on how to make this Trofast train table, check out IKEA Hacker. If you're looking for another great IKEA hacked train table, check out this one we wrote about awhile back.
