101308_rg_diycharger_02.jpgTwistedmosaic dug out raw materials from the trash, which is even more impressive. He partially used pieces from a wall furniture unit. The bottom shelf is a laptop desk, at a height of 29". It's perfect to use while eating breakfast or working on a project for a short while. Also, if you're running out of space, this is a good way of having extra desk real estate.

101308_rg_diycharger_03.jpgThe middle shelf is used as a place to put down every day things like keys, wallet, sunglasses, etc. This keeps everything in the same space. The top shelf has a media dock and charger station, as well as an exposed outlet for battery chargers. The guts of the charging station contain an extension cord with a grounded triplex end, and an outlet mounted surge protector. Behind the bottom cable management, there is the head for the triplex outlet. This is plugged into the power strip.
