flax and twine had a hard time deciding the ultimate fate of this beautiful piece of homemade art. The materials needed are pretty simple: a hula hoop for the outer frame and some ripped-up t-shirts for the spokes. The only other thing required is a large ball of finger-knitted yarn (this is yarn that has sort of been woven into thicker strands by wrapping it around your fingers--check out Anne's finger-knitting tutorial for all of the details). It helps to have some willing helpers on hand as well.
The end result is a one-of-a-kind circular rug or wall hanging. Anne heartily recommends involving your kids in this project, particularly in the finger-knitting stage. Nicely done, Anne! • Read More: flax and twine (Images: Anne/flax and twine) MORE HULA HOOP CRAFTS ON APARTMENT THERAPY: • DIY Hula Hoop Gnome Home Playhouse • Easy Play Tent Tutorial
