We recently stumbled upon this quick and easy DIY. We love the contrast between the yarn and the real twigs as well as the fact that these dandelions won't wilt nor will they leave florets all over your house. Don't limit yourself to white yarn...we have a bag full of yarn that will add some great pops of color to our faux arrangement.

Canuck Craft posted the dandelion idea following instructions found at Poopscape Projects. These incredibly easy to make bundles of yarn would make a great project with kids or an easy centerpiece for an informal get together.

I've been looking for a tutorial JUST like this! Thank you!!
Cute! I just used small yarn balls on sticks as little "flower" arrangements in my windowless bathroom. Now I going to figure out how to do the dandelions in the kiddos windowless bath, but out of reach...hmm.
Lizzykewl-- how about fashioning them into a mobile? I lve mobiles made with branches.
Hi, I've just made a few of them : http://nocesdecoton.canalblog.com/archives/2010/02/08/16843206.html. I think they look great, and it's a cheap alternative to fresh flowers ! As for a mobile with them, I'll have to think about it (I'm actually putting together a nursery), thanks for the idea !!
Marianne from France, your link isn't working because the dot on the end is included in the link. I copied the link without the dot and pasted it and that worked fine.
Cute flowers! I have tons of leftover yarn that needs to be made into these!
Another tip: pompons are easier to make if you wind the yarn around a square of sturdy cardboard rather than your hand. This way you can vary the size of your pompons simply by using a different size card.
Make the card half the diameter of the pompon you desire, then thread the tie under the wound-up yarn before slipping the yarn off the card. That way you lessen the chance of the yarn getting messed up before you get it tied.
Oh this is great! I have a cat so greens are out of the question, but this he actually would leave alone!!!
tlm, your cat would leave these alone?
The felines in my house would wonder why I glued their toys to sticks, as I've been using the yarn ball method for that purpose for years.
Excellent! I just bought this vase in teal and needed something to put in it permanently:

Fake flowers are eh and origami looked a little too handmade. My cream and mustard puffballs look great.
Truffula trees! Now you just need to tell us where to find the Bar-ba-loots!
