In the world of DIY projects there are those that leave you feeling a little intimidated and then there are others which inspire confidence and have you running for the nearest craft store. These pint-sized poufs can be purchased from retail establishments or even better, made with a simple yard of fabric — here's how!
Susan of Living With Punks simply blew us away with her floor cushion tutorial. Although we know our way around a needle and thread and know that in theory we should be able to make something of this nature, her step-by-step photos have us super-charged and ready to run to Michaels for fabric!
We think these cushions would (obviously) be great around the home, but could make the best birthday present for friends and family... and just in case anyone is curious, our birthday is January 3rd!

Sprout Side Table
you have got to be kidding! this is awesome! i have been thinking about making something exactly like this for a while, so this is perfect!
Unfortunately, my sewing skills are limited to sewing in a straight line. Pity because everything makes sense at the tutorial but the actual sewing might result in a VERY wonky ottoman. ;o)
So until I can tackle this medium-difficulty skill level sewing project (by my standards!), as an alternative, I have been eyeing this one from mookah,

And custom ones from Branch and Birdie,

Very clever.
i cannot believe my good luck in the timing of this posting! i have been searching for poufs to match our new playroom but this has inspired me to make my own!! thanks so much ohdeedoh!!!
I think I'll make this in a sturdy out door type fabric. My kids love to take books outside(no library books of course, that can be disasterous). I think they would love having there own out door pillow to take with them!
I have one of those from Branch & Birdie and I LOVE IT!
I just finished making on of these using the tutorial. Check it out here...
