I'm hosting a major garden party this weekend (for my own birthday) and I have been busy for weeks preparing the 'grounds' for the event. My garden is particularly large and it takes a while to get it in shape, but I have, in my preparations, come up with a few time savers and problem solvers that might help you get your garden ready for visitors.

I recently moved back home for the summer, and my childhood room needed an upgrade in the wall art department. I found some pretty (and free!) botanical prints from Poppytalk that I plan to use, but I also found two other sources for downloadable prints that I shared in the links below. I am going to print them out and use washi tape to temporary hang them, but you can frame them and create a beautiful gallery wall as well.
Q: I recently came into possession of 3 compendiums of the UK magazine 'The Story of Pop' from the early 70s. And if you are, the dance floor will be packed all night by following these tips...
MoreOne of my favorite things is seeing old-school skills, like sewing and quilting, reclaimed by a younger generation and used for present day design. This has been huge in the last decade, as evidenced by the alternative craft scene and, of course, Etsy. Consider the macrame lamp (like the one shown above), a hallmark of the 70s. Keep reading to see how one blogger reimagined this mid century classic for a new era.
Wall-hanging entertainment center furniture can be an expensive endeavor, especially if all you want to do is to get your home theater gear off the floor. IKEA hack to the rescue! This project took only seven pieces to construct: six modified IKEA NESNA children's tables and a seventh to provide the spare lumber for the long center column spinal cord of this entertainment nerve center...
With the warm season starting, I’ve become obsessed with all things white. So I’ve returned to my rental white walls in the bathroom, which feels so fresh and clean for summer. Check out the results below.
