I'd like to move my 4.5 year old daughter to a loft bed to create more floor space in her tiny bedroom, but am feeling torn between a low loft which tends to average 45" off the ground and a higher loft which seem to average 70"- 72" high. Ideally, I'd love one that started low and could be raised - do these exist?
Because she's still young I think a low bed is the safer option but instead of replacing it down the road with something taller, something with an adjustable height would be awesome. I'd love to know if any readers know of a product like this or have other advice/feedback? I'm leaning toward a low loft, but would love to know my options.

We have these beds by Maxtrix. They can be adjusted from a low loft, to bunk beds, to high loft, etc. We've had them for almost six years now. Many different options!

Try to find a dealer that is liquidating THUKA - very similar quality as Matrix, but a 1/3 of the price. We've been extremely happy with ours. That said, I found that the low loft level is good for a few months only because the space underneath is somewhat useless. Make sure to buy conversion kit at the same time.
Matrix. You came to the rescue ..this question has garnered my couristy too...did not know y'all were around. Maybe this family can be a spokesperson for the product...give them a break ( discount),
I was going to suggest stack cinder blocks, put a filler in the form..then place the bed frame on top. Like your version a lot better...safer too. RAA
Take a look at www.CollegeBedLofts.com. They custom build loft beds and can drill them for multiple heights.
