Do Modern Tablecloths Even Exist?

Q: Hi! I have been searching high and low for cool, modern tablecloth options. I know tablecloths are basically just out of style right now. Many people have gorgeous dining tables and want to show them off. I have my great-aunt’s teak dining table, which often doubles as a work station, and a one-year-old. Guess who is winning? I want to protect my table, and for everyday use I need some kind of pattern to camouflage little marks, but every tablecloth I see is so … old-fashioned and ugly. Help! -Sent by Jen

Editor: Such an interesting question! Over the holidays my mom gave me a very pretty wintery-themed tablecloth and while I like it a lot, I also thought, “Huh! A tablecloth…” I’ve never used one before, and would love to see examples of them used well in modern homes. Readers, any shopping and/or styling tips for Jen (and me)? Thanks!
