Even though we'd like to think we can separate ourselves from tech gear, the truth of the matter is, more often than not they're integral to our day-to-day operations. No matter where we're going, we're usually equipped with one or more devices that keep us plugged in. They're almost like children to us (though don't yield the same tax breaks), which is why we're secure in giving them their own names...

My iPod's name is iPodimous.
I was so excited when I got my first iPod, I named it "Precious". When I took it for repair at the genius bar, they thought I was nuts. Tee hee!
I thought it was required to name your iPod. Mine's Appleseed. Also I was taking my Beetle in for an oil change and the service person said, "Name" I looked at my car and quick named it Beetle with my last name. The service person looked up at me and said, "Your name". Oh.
I name anything that costs me more than $150...except furniture and shoes. My iPod is Ichabod, my first laptop was Sparrow, the second is Magpie, my wifi is Wind, my external HD is Wing, my USB drive is feather, my iPhone is Edward. I think it's probably weirder NOT to name the things that you use so much every single day.
