We'd like to think that most of the readers of the Apartment Therapy family of sites (That's all those links resting at the very top of this page) are in favor of making green choices in their life. Sure, we can't always make sure to buy 100% post-consumer recycled packaging (we all know how living green means spending green), but not taking a plastic bag from a store clerk when you have few enough items to carry is something small and smart that we can always get behind. So when we came across this Consumerist article about how much money you waste when you never turn off your gaming console (The figures are under the jump, if you're interested.), we took pause...
Do you leave your gaming console on all the time? It seems to us like one of those things you use and then turn off, like an oven. But maybe we're not as hardcore of gamers as some others of you out there.
A friend pointed out to us that we never turn our computer off, and that for some people, leaving the XBox on is the same thing.
What do you think?
