The current line of pet feeding bowls and stands consists of three styles in multiple sizes and gets its name from those who will enjoy it the most - the DOgs and CAts.
Shown above, left to right:
1. Square Meal
2. Y. Bowl
3. Dogleg Diner
4. Square Meal

Prices range from $11.50 (for extra stainless bowls) to $188. for the largest Dogleg Diner. Our favorite, the Y.Bowl, is just $30.

Oh I was so happy to see stylish raised pet bowls! But $188 for a dog bowl? The price seriously took the wind out of my sails :(
Do yourself a favor and AVOID all raised dog dishes. They used to say that raised dishes helped prevent bloating in large breeds. More recent studies have shown that dogs that eat from raised bowls are MORE likely to bloat, even when comparing the same breed of dog (ie danes to danes, vs danes to goldens). The ONLY dogs that should be fed in a raised position are those that have esophageal motility problems like megaesophagus.
www.veterinarypartner.com has more information on this.
Interesting link. My dog eats from regular bowls currently. But I keep hearing people touting the health benefits of raised ones. Thank you for the info!
