Documenting Your Child's Room

Bloesem Kids

Last year my husband found photos taken of the home we sold before moving to our current one. I had made a mental note of getting the files from our real estate agent and then forgot about it. And by the time I finally remembered, they had been deleted. So seeing the photos of our previous place with our furniture and belongings really made me happy and brought back sweet memories. Irene of Bloesem and BKids is in this same nostalgic boat and shared these photos with us of her son's room, taken before she made some changes from a baby room to a toddler room. She admits to feeling a little emotional looking at them and it's a good reminder to take some keepsake photos before a move or big change.

Children change and grow so quickly and their rooms along with them. The memory of our eldest child's room when we first put in the toddler bed is already hazy. The best way to keep those memories is to document your child's room along the way in photos and/or video. If you're like me, you've looked at old photos of yourself from childhood and wished you could see a little more of your childhood bedroom in all its iterations.

Irene was lucky enough to have some beautiful photos taken of her son Kiet's nursery by a friend. Kiet now sleeps in a toddler bed but Irene still has these lovely images of his crib and nursery to look at when she's feeling nostalgic. Beautiful nursery, wasn't it?
