The idea of saying your baby sleeps in Dodo is both appealing (in that immature 3rd grader kind of way) and repulsive (because the literal idea of that is just gross). This newborn bassinet oddly has the same effect on our senses. Appealing because, wow it's pretty and appalling because we're unsure of what newborn requires a silk chariot to catch a few moments of shut eye!
This beautiful bassinet is handcrafted from the finest woods and decked out with an all silk interior. It also has on-board 360ยบ multidirectional wheels, making it easy to soothe your baby to sleep. Sound like a great idea? This space pod can be yours for the small price of $3,450. Not as unreasonable as some items we've seen, but we're guessing out of most folks budgets!
Although we're elated to see items being handcrafted with children's needs in mind that take aesthetics seriously, we're waiting for the day when the price of such items is actually obtainable on a working man's salary. Though we're not sure they'd survive the pigs. That would be the day they're flying right? Until then, we'll save our pennies in hopes of finding a deal!

White Enamel Flatwa...
I read it as doo doo first, I think because of the two capitals. But then I saw it as doe doe. Dodo (doe doe) is a common short form in french speaking areas for sleep. The word for sleep is dormir. So I don't think poop factors in at all. No need to be grossed out by anything, except the price tag!
If money wasn't an object, I would love to put my baby to sleep in a beautiful silk bed. Who wouldn't? This bassinet is beautiful and looks like it would be heaven to sleep in.
I had the exact same thought as sewcharming...if money was no object I would buy this in a second. Stunning. Looks like a piece of art.
I don't know about you, but my (now 9 month old) infant wanted no parts of his cradle and we ended up co-sleeping! Maybe that's because he didn't get a silk DoDo to sleep in, but I would have been appalled if I'd spent that kind of money for him to end up in our bed! Aside from that, the short amount of time infants actually FIT in a bassinet makes it even more not worth it!
Yes, every child needs a silk down pillow in a lovely over-the-top egg pod to suffocate in.
Oh I also forgot to add NaNu-NaNu!
yuck. i find it casket-like and impractical - hand-wash-only bedding for a newborn?
i love it. but i read it as a Dodo bird and the shape looks like an egg. but i LOVE it.
It's gorgeous, but my cat would end up sleeping in it.
It looks like a toilet or a bidet.
The French use doo-doo for a childs favorite blanket or stuffed friend. I have no idea how it would be spelled, but this is what immediately came to mind. As if THIS would be the item your toddler would lovingly tote around.
It's gorgeous! Since my little one is already too big for it (and we bed-shared, anyway) I will have a giant one for myself. Very 2001. :::time to wake up, Dave:::
My Mini Arm's Reach I just set up for our (2 days overdue) newborn is suddenly looking awfully lame.
