Oh my. As pet lovers here at unplggd we would definitely argue the latter, but French entrepreneur Romain Jerry would disagree. Rather than deal with the dirt and grime that comes with taking your dog outside with your own two hands, why not automate the entire process? I mean, it works for cars and clothes, why not your pet right?
A few minutes locked in a washing chamber and priced according to the size of the dog, I can't help but think there is no way your dog is coming out of there without being traumatized. I'm no Caesar Milan, but even my minimal dog whispering skills tell me that dog is terrified. Let's hope this never makes it stateside.

Sorry but that's just wrong. Now create one for kids and I would approve.
from the videos I've seen of this contraption and the animals' reactions from being in it, I can't understand how it is legal.
oh man, that's like waterboarding for pets! i vote a big HELL NO.
Awful.
I'm not a pet owner but, this just looks cruel.
Is there a spin cycle?
it's already here. visit lewisburg, pa and you too can wash your dog this way...and it's right next to the car wash too! no, i'm not kidding. thankfully, i don't think it ever gets used...too far out of town on a backroad, probably used as some kind of tax cut or front for other nefarious business.
whoa... no.
i have seen this before and my corgi would hate it...
The other thing that is out there is a similar item (this may do it as well) that you put the dog in to help dry it, it like a cage full of hot moving air.
I saw a tv special on it, but hereis the article online. The thing is, groomers are already using these...
Just go and wash your dog yourself! I live in an apartment, and I can still do it. It takes about 15 minutes top, better then losing your dog...

This is really, really awful...ugh. I would not ever put my dog in one of these...
Yet another product trying to simplify something that isn't difficult to begin with. If you have a bathtub, and some doggie shampoo, you are ready to rock. Not only that, but other than the shampoo IT'S FREE! Really, all this is doing is perpetuating laziness, not to mention making your dog hate you.
If they can figure out a way for it to itch my dog's back with water jets then I'm sure she'll be in :) She loves the shower for that very reason.
I love giving my doggy a bath. She makes the cutest grunting sounds.

I would not soil this machine with some stupid dog.
Horrific!
This is an odd video--it shows the owner getting in with his dog. I guess he was worried the dog would be scared.

I saw this on TV. The dog was completely petrified! This is cruelty! I can't imagine the air in there is enough for the animal to breathe!
these things are horrible - there was a local groomer near me that used these and i believe 2 dogs died after an employee forgot to take the dogs out after she left for the day. it was really sad to hear, i can't imagine losing 2 pets at once. especially since this machine seems like torture and sheer laziness on the part of the groomer.
Totally Unacceptable. Humans are more powerful agreed but I don't think so they sh'd make ill use of their power by inventing something like this!
If you think it's rough on dogs, wait 'till you see cats react . . .

This is why I have an indoor cat - she washes herself and rarely needs any human assistance in doing so (unless she like bats at my mascara wand while I'm putting it on...then paws get washed...vigorously. And may I add, she's never touched my mascara wand again! haha)
That is AWFUL. I'm truly horrified.
How about we stick the person that invented this in it, and see how they like it? Seriously, this makes me f*****g mad.
Not much different than a shower and rather as enjoyable for dogs as a walk in the rain (not much).
Is it just me, but do posts about pet-related items bring out cruel comments from people (towards pets and humans)?
This is WRONG - in So Many Ways...
sunspot, that is perhaps the most infuriating video i've ever seen. i want to frickin smack up those asshole owners.
Oh! For Gods sake! Put the dog in the tub, grab a plastic cup and give the damn dog a non-traumatic bath!! What a horrible, horrible idea!
Oh my god!!! I saw this and I thought it was historical at the same time horrific! I have a great idea!! It looks pretty big... So lets put the inventer, G.W Bush and all the ten of the worlds horrific genocidal killing dictators in this suicide box and Nuke 'em. And see how they feel what it is like to be screwed over and used as a GINNY PIG on our tax dollars! We'll even take bets to see who survives. We can rehire the employee that forgot the 2 dogs that died. Opps!
Hi to all,
I just would like to clear some points.
The girl on the picture is the owner of the dog and also a customer.
I didn't create that cabin (spanish company) but the concept which is a dog washing place where pet’s owner can wash them easily without dirtying their bathroom.
The automatic cabin takes the concept of a water jets shower obviously softer than for humans (nothing is turning inside the washing space for people which were thinking this). Shampoo is similar of a shampoo for baby adapted to dogs and cats (doesn't hurt eyes and hears).
In case of dog's panic, owners can push the stop button or open the door. Like that cycle is stopping and restart when you close the door or release stop button. After washing something like 50 dogs in 7 opening weeks, I’ve never see problems with dogs. Even if I get the case, owners can finish to wash or dry their pet themselves with the manual washing cabin.
Have you ever wash a dog which doesn’t want to be wash…it’s almost impossible. The advantage of this kind of cabin comparing the manual one is because you don’t have human intervention, the dog quiet by himself. I saw a lot of dogs very cool inside the cabin and that was surprising the owner because they said to me that it was a pain to wash them by hand.
Please have a look of the real video of my site: http://www.dogomatic.fr/video.htm
I hope my English is understandable and I thank you for my right of reply

The pics look horrifying! But I think that is deceiving.
But the dogs in the video only look about as irritated as they would be when forced to take a traditional bath.
Horrible nasty contraption. bleh!
When did we get so lazy that we cant wash our own dog....
I have never seen a showering chamber for human
The creator's idea is just plain cruel
