Donna Brady's Urban Lamps

Graffiti Shades. We love these photographic shades—images from Brooklyn. Back in December, Maxwell slinked Donna Brady's lamp available through design*sponge shop—but after a second glance through Stuff-ing we re-examined the handmade lamps from re-surface. We're so glad we did! The Brooklyn-based studio is "inspired by the city's dilapidated building facades"...

and the "present collection transforms the multi-layered surfaces of urban decay into beautiful and unique interior designs". We couldn't have said it better! Via Stuff-ing and design*sponge shop.

I loved these lamps, and they make these awesome candles too...just like the saint candles you can buy at the grocery store, but with images of brooklyn on them. Tres cool.

Graffiti is vandalism. People who celebrate it should really know better and there's no way I'd want it in my house.

I think they are absolutely stunning and beautiful! She clearly has an eye for crisp clean design and a talent for finding beauty in what most people would walk by with distaste. Keep it up!

Who would WANT to bring urban decay into their home?

Um. Urban decay is when boring suburban refugees take over a neighborhood without contributing to the welfare of the people who already live there. Urban decay is when these people try to whitewash, dismiss and eradicate a beautiful culture.

Graffiti is a mark left behind to say "I was here!" to a society that really doesn't give a damn. On grey, oppressive street, Graffiti is the only color, the only flowers the city has to offer.
