As with everything these days we can be so focused on the outcome of our hard work that we forget to enjoy the process. As we're working to improve our outdoor spaces, container gardens, backyards or window boxes remember to take the time to enjoy the progress you've made, however large or small. Even just thinking about what you'd like to improve is progress. We spent the weekend at the boyfriend's place. He doesn't have a garden, just a barren deck with some bamboo for privacy, but we took a couple of moments to go outside in the morning before it got insanely hot, and just sat with cups of coffee to enjoy the outdoors. Even in Venice, with a deck right by a busy alley, there are still birds to hear chirping, a breeze that reminds us that the ocean is close by and the rustle of the bamboo to anchor us in the present moment. It's stealing these moments at the beginning of the day that anchor us for the rest of the day.
What anchors you? Do you make time to enjoy your garden? What's your favorite time to spend in it?
