Yesterday we put the spotlight on a kitchen problem that's hard to ignore, but even harder to solve -- where to store kitchen gadgets. One such tool we didn't touch upon is the digital scale.
We've always wanted a kitchen scale, though, to be honest, not necessarily for cooking. You see, kitchen scales are great for weighing young rescue kittens to make sure they're growing at the speed they need to be. One of the reasons we never got one, besides the fact that owning one to weigh kittens would officially make us a crazy cat lady, was our kitchen was beyond small. We had already maxed out every cabinet, drawer, and shelf space, plus some.
But what if we could tuck our new scale between cookbooks. Wel, that would be an interesting idea...
Sur la Table has a digital kitchen scale that's shaped to look like a small novel, measuring 1-by-7.5-by-1.8 inches. The aluminum scale has a smooth finish that's curved so it neatly tucks between cooking tomes.

Nice, however all I want is a kitchen scale that you can set for "grams" that does not go back to "ounces" when you turn it off and then turn back on. Either a slide-switch or decent internal programming that remembers the last chosen units of measurement. Any suggestions?
@JohnCanon: Let me see what I can find and I'll post if I find just what you're looking for.
Thanks.
BTW, the inch-size listed make the scale about the size of a nutmeg grinder.
