Dorm rooms don't have to be all cheerful florals and turquoise plaids. This room combines dark colors and luxe materials for a look that's equal parts feminine and mysterious.

I would not recommend the Urban Outfitters accordian side table. Ordered it and it's quite junkie and poorly constructed. Of course the store didn't post my unfavorable review on their website.
It kills me that they sell the Tord Boontje light for 99 dollars in the US. In the UK you can get the shade portion for less than 40 dollars at Habitats. Couple it with a really inexpensive ikea light kit, and voila! The same thing for half the price. Now all you need is for Habitats to start shipping to the US.
Could you folks at AT consider adding "Dark Glam" to your list of styles, and start compiling looks? I want to put just ever so slight a hint of goth/steampunk into a room or two, but it's hard to go subtle and goth at the same time.
here we go again. College students, buy this look!
Why not encourage some diy style. Links to diy projects and design? Cmon, web full of ideas, and yet here we are with junk from the typical sources.
Urban Outfitters? As if that shop isn't already a huge hipster radar blip.
This is lazy.
In the DIY spirit, we have printable bat images from long ago -- those Victorians loved to catch bats and draw them.

I have three of the UO accordian side tables and think they're fantastic. Well made, sturdy, and just the right size for a side table. Plus, the price is great.
I'm in love with the mood although I would change the pillow
