What we don't love is putting the flowers in with all of the fresh produce we picked up, because we worry about breaking the stems and, honestly, because "flower water" dripping onto our food grosses us out a little. At the same time the free hand required for the newspaper-wrapped flower bundle just often isn't there. The Barbara Flower Carrier seemed like it could be a brilliant solution.
But at $61 it's a little expensive for our tastes, especially considering it's such a uni-tasker. It looks to us like a simple cone and strap made out of oilcloth, so we're thinking of making one ourselves next time we get the sewing machine out.
Available from BuyOlympia.com for $61.
