Do we have a category for "Why didn't we think of that?" Because this idea would go there. A dry erase board doesn't have to be a plain, white rectangle. It can be functional when you need it, and cute when it's off duty.

We're so glad that Brittni from Paper n Stitch opened our eyes to this. We love that she broke through the assumption that a dry erase board has to be plain white and customized one according to her taste. She has a complete tutorial here, and lots of other cool projects here.

Yep, this is definitely a forehead slapper. It's so OBVIOUS once you see it! Brilliant! I never realized that dry erase markers worked on anything other than dry erase boards.
This is great! I had just been searching various websites for a decorative dry erase board. I have a magnetized board that is covered in a lovely fabric and framed, given it a decorative quality, but had never seen something similar in the dry erase space. Can't wait to try this out!
We have one of these in our hallway right above the shelf (landing dock for keys/mail/etc.) and coat rack. I had a great long rectangular frame that used to house wedding photos. I put a pretty sheet of wrapping paper in it an filled a vase with dry erase markers. We wipe it clean when guests come over (normally) but otherwise use it as a grocery list, message board and general note-space. We've gotten so many compliments on it - just as a piece of framed wrapping paper! Ha!
heh I've been doing this for years. I bought four cheap frames and found a way to hang them WITHOUT their backing materials. You can write directly on the glass. Luckily my frames came with those little metal tabs (intended to hold the cardboard backer in) that hold the glass just fine. They have been through 5 moves with me in the past 5 years. Love it.
