Double-Duty Designs from BoConcept

A while ago, AT Editor Heather and I got a sneak peek of the new BoConcept store in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood. Since they're now officially open, we thought we'd share some of the store's double-duty items including sleeper sofas, multipurpose coffee tables, and hidden home offices. Our favorite piece is the one shown at top, a twin bed/bench that folds into an ottoman...

Starting at $499 (the price goes up depending on the fabric), this sleeper ottoman comes slip-covered in the pattern of your choice.

Design Consultant Paul showed us how to flip the frame from an ottoman to a bed.
The joints are easy to work with - it doesn't take much elbow grease.
Cushions are attached to the frame so they stay in place as you open up the sides.
The open piece works as a twin bed or a cushioned bench.
We tried it out - it's pretty comfy. Perfect for overnight guests.

This Sofa Bed starts at $949. The back of the sofa hides two zippered compartments with fold-up legs. When you convert the sofa to a bed, the extra legs provide stability.

This Largo Sectional starts at $2,600. The pieces can be broken apart into chairs or positioned together as a sofa.

The Lecco shelving system can be customized into cabinets, bookshelves, or a hidden home office. This configuration shows a flip-top desk that lets you hide all the mess when you're done for the day.

The Functional Coffee Tables contain pop-up panels that can hide remote controls during the day and transform into a TV tray at night. This one starts at $999.

A simpler version of the Functional Coffee Table starts at $899 and fits more easily in a small space. For more information on Chicago's new BoConcept store, click here. To see the online catalog, click here.

Thanks to Francisco, Paul, and the BoConcept team for showing us around!
