Sköna Hem, you saucy little minx of a Swedish magazine, you. Every month, you slay me with these gorgeous homes that seem so effortlessly chic, incorporating affordable elements like Ikea furniture with salvaged vintage treasures--teasing that with the right mindset and luck, this could be within grasp. To sum it up, I will borrow the immortal words from the fair Rihanna: Sometimes, I hate how much I love you, Sköna Hem.

This can also be viewed as "country-style" done right, as opposed to those horrific fruit basket/rooster-themed wallpapers borders frequently found in kitchens in Virginia.
This magazine alone is enough reason to learn to read Swedish. I'd subscribe for the pictures, if not for the 3-figure US subscription price.
Do we know where that shelf with the hooks came from? Is that IKEA or vintage?
@amessen , it's probably vintage. I checked the printed version of Sköna Hem and they don't mention where it's from. This building used to be a school and the shelf with hooks looks very much like the type they have in schools (or at least had when I went to school...).
I live in southern Sweden and I recognize the pictures of the inside of this house because the people who own it put it up for sale some time ago. Nothing has changed as far as I can tell, the pictures look exactly the same, so I guess the house was never sold. Strange since everyone seem to appreciate the beauty of it.
I love those hooks beneath the shelf - They remind me of the hooks that are found beneath bars downtown to hang coats, briefcases and purses...
@amessen--
That shelf wouldn't be difficult to make from a board and a couple wooden brackets. Sourcing the hooks might be a bit tougher, but your local Ace Hardware should probably be able to help get all you need.
