Dragons Love Tacos

by Adam Rubin, illustrated by Daniel Salmieri

Friendly dragons, tacos, parties, absurdist humor, deadpan expressions, a little carpentry, and a distrust of spicy foods, Adam Rubin and Daniel Salmieri (creators of the equally funny Those Darn Squirrels) have compiled all the necessary ingredients for a picture book that aims to please, smothered with laugh-inducing salsa.

Dragons Love Tacos examines the love dragons have for parties and tacos, and the dangers that erupt from feeding them anything spicy.

"Why do dragons love tacos? Maybe it's the smell from the sizzling pan. Maybe it's the crunch of the crispy tortillas. Maybe it's a secret. Why do dragons love parties? Maybe it's the conversation. Maybe it's the dancing. Maybe it's the comforting sound of a good friend's laughter."

According to the book's "dragon expert" if you're going to throw a party for dragons you'll need "buckets of tacos, pantloads of tacos," or exactly one boat filled with tacos. And make sure you bury all the spicy salsa in the backyard so the dragons can't find it. Because aside from a involuntary reflex to anything spicy, dragons turn out to be a pretty sociable and considerate breed of monsters, with a serious hankering for tacos.
