Many a little girl dreams of having her very own dressing room. Some adults managed to have grown-up versions. Because of space constraints, we'll just have to be consoled with inspiration from other homes.
Do you have a dressing room?

Yeah, my dressing room is also known as my bedroom. I would settle for a walk in closet. 4 is great, it's got lotsa types of storage and is a fun color. 7 has some great shoe storage.
Number reminds me of J Crew :)
yeah this makes me think you have too much stuff, unless you're sarah jessica parker or fergie
Can we talk about the matching upholstered globe in the first photo?!
Also, it wouldn't be my style, but the lavender dressing room (#3) is delicious!
i can only dream of a dressing room for now , may be when i become wealthy :)
haha.. oops I meant , number 7 reminds me of J Crew
CrazyLady that is a mirror ... not an upholstered globe ;)
I love these rooms except number 1... not that impressive. Even though I don't have expensive clothes to put in that expensive storage, I still want one!! Please post more closets and dressing rooms like these.... or better yet, how to get this look on a budget(a very very tight budget)!
I just love #5. It looks well designed to be compact -- like something a normal person (i.e. someone who isn't JSP or Fergie) could do if they were remodeling their walk-in closet and were willing to sacrifice a little bit of space from another room.
The others are a bit more ostentatious in size, with the exception of #3, but honestly, I can't tell what's going on in it. I see a chair, lamp, and mirror in a closet.
What I really like about the idea of a separate dressing room is how clean and minimal they must allow the bedroom to be.
don't think that's an upholstered globe but a mirror reflecting back the surface of the chair.
Ahh! It is a mirror. I guess my mind sees what it wants to see :)
If I aspired to be wealthy and have way more space [or shoes!!] than anyone ever needed, I'd be drooling over these. :)
I'm lucky enough to have my bed fit in my room, let alone have a closet!
I have always dreamed of having a big walk in closet or small dressing room -- 90% of the mess in my house comes from my constant battle with clothes (I don't even have that many!). I always figured that if I had a place like this I could mess it up, have millions of hooks to hang everything, and then close the door and keep clothes and shoes from invading my bedroom and house.
Obscene!
Frankly, I'd love to see how people with very little storage space keep their bedrooms looking nice/not tacky...
I do have a small dressing room as part of the studio that I live in. Even though it's small in size it really has made me much more organized in my clothing storage. Furthermore when getting dressed I used to leave clothes all over my old apartment leaving it messy, that's no longer a problem now. It's also the envy of all my friends.
I love my walk in closet. It's not glamorous but it's big. I would like to decorate it though...so more! Show me more! ;)
I do! Sort of, my bedroom is a long narrow space of our attic. There is plenty of room for the bed and a vanity i've been struggling with how to make more storage. I plan to build closets into the knee walls. I have a goodly number of shoes and a mother who sews (so many dresses). I've been racking my brain with how to arrange things, the center of the room is over like 7 feet, and the knee walls are maybe 4-5 feet high.

it's under the tab "upstairs" labeled "upstairs now"
yes, i do.
the third bedroom in my little house is 6 feet wide and 11 feet long - since it has a window they can call it a bedroom. when my realtor and i first came to look at this house, she thought it was a closet and walked right by it.
since i'm the crazy lady who bought the house with 4 tiny closets, i decided to turn the tiny room into a dressing room. my old closet organizer was too small for the room, so i put half of it into my master bedroom closet and use the tower portion for my bedding (no linen closet).
i painted the dressing room ruby red and hung a tiny crystal chandelier in it. along one wall i have one of these:

i later got an old desk in poor condition and lacquered it white and turned it into a dressing table.
No no no, TiniB, that's just a painting you can see in the second photo.
