Whether it's bed linens, walls, carpeting or furniture, the white in these rooms made me feel like stretching out with some lemonade and a good book. Also, make sure to view some of our favorite relaxing bedrooms from our own Apartment Therapy tours.

2. Those mosquito nets were what got me. I can just feel the beach nearby. This guest bedroom is in the Cox family's refurbished Hamptons barn, from Martha Stewart.

4. In this room, bold, evergreen walls are offset with crisp white linens and fixtures. From HGTV.

Sprout Side Table
That first bedroom is particularly lovely! I'm about to move into a new house where the landlord painted all the walls white (thank heavens - my current house features 16 different wall colours!!). Can't wait to have an almost all-white bedroom!
The green would be anything but relaxing for me, but to each his/her own. After having a deep red bedroom for years (which we did like), we're going all whites/pale neutrals in our new master bedroom. These photos were inspirational, thanks!
i can't have a white bedroom, as much as i've tried. dirty from day 1.
I love white paneling (especially when the architecture is great too like in the first pic), but somehow white on regular walls looks much more plain and cold to me, so until I get a cottage like that...
I'm not sure if it's the white itself that makes these rooms appear relaxing. To me, it's the soft, complimentary textures and tonal shift of colors that creates calmness.
Or, to say in the negative: it does not look busy and erratic, like there is too much movement.
