You know the drill. A roadside find that is just begging for a makeover, so you pull over, somehow manage to get it in the car and think to yourself--lucky find! That's exactly how Veronica came to acquire this dresser (but knew the messily applied grey enamel paint had to go).
After taking off the legs, Veronica stripped, sanded and primed the piece before painting it a bright and fun school bus yellow. Because it was going in the children's room, she went with a playful pop of color and topped it off with a runner made from IKEA's Annamoa fabrics.

um.... i love it.
I would love to know the paint color, its gorgeous and I have a couple of thrift store pieces just begging for the perfect yellow makeover. Great job!!
Why did she paint the handles? Leaving them metallic or replacing them would have given the piece some style.
I love it. I've been haunting the thrift stores waiting to find a nice cabinet to paint bright yellow, just like this!
I like the before better.
I really like the gray as well, for myself anyway :) But it does seem that the handles might look better gray w/ the yellow....but I'm obsessed with gray & yellow right now :)
Perfect for a kids' room..the yellow is such a happy color
the before seemed much nicer
Try Benjamin Moore's lemon shine, it's a nice deep rich but bright yellow like the one pictured.
I really love the color. Great choice. I think I would also like the handles to be a different color just for a little contrast.
Yeah, I also think it would look better with contrasting handles, maybe just some from a hardware store. But I love the color and the runner, it looks really good :)
yellow is way better! was this plain ole enamel paint, or 2pak paint?
Love it. Love the handles. Kudos for taking them off to prime. Now it just needs a glass topper for the cooler than cool runner.
My mother used to use wall paper under glass for the tops of her painted finds.
This is cute and happy!
Looks very good.
I like the idea of doing yellow in a kids room but it does seem like it would be a little nicer if the legs and pulls were a different color. Maybe use one of the colors from the fabric.
Good for you for going bold.
