Okay, the Maine cottage number is pretty and all, but how can it possibly cost that much? Its not exactly high design and its painted, so we're not talking museum quality woodwork or anything.

I've been lusting after the IKEA one for quite awhile, but I just don't have enough linens to justify the purchase!

Those are all so lovely!! We are moving into a new place soon, and I am excited to have a LINEN CLOSET!!

I have the IKEA cabinet and it is surprisingly well-built, the only problem being, it takes forever to assemble. Instructions are picture-only, which makes it difficult to figure out what side goes in and what side faces out. Once assembled, it is holds plenty of blankets and sheets for those of use with old homes and few closets.

I'm kinda shocked the Ikea one is that expensive, but I think I like it the best. I love the sunny color.

I really like the yellow Ikea one as well! The interior of it is also very pretty... There's just not enough space in my apartment *sigh*. Everything is in the bedroom closet, including the bathroom towels. Altough I do keep some warmer sheets and pillows in an old-fashion trunk or chest, at the foot of the bed.

there was a dresser at ikea similar to this, can't remember the name, it came in white and dark brown. The finish on the dark brown one was so soft though that it was already nicked up like crazy in the store, and me just tapping it with my fingers put dents in it. If they put a little more quality in to their pieces they would be worth more and last longer. I doubt a more durable finish would have increased the cost that much.

I may be mistaking, but I think Ikea is mostly made with pine, which is an awfully soft wood. We nicked my partner's 3 drawers Hemnes dresser while securing it with cords while we were moving.

Maine Cottage furniture looks juvenile to me -- is it the pastel colors? The knobs? Hmmm.

I like the Ikea one also, but at 52" high, those drawers are sort of useless for me (5'0") .. I would be opening them at neck height if I am doing the math right. I wish the drawers were on the bottom ... it'd be perfect.
